Groundbreaking Event: Greenhouse at May River in Old Town Bluffton, SC
Shoreline Construction is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of a new restaurant and speakeasy, Greenhouse at May River, which promises to bring a unique flair to the Bluffton dining scene.
The event, featuring company representatives, vendors, partners, local leaders, and Shoreline Construction, is scheduled for 10:00 am on June 28th, celebrating the start of this eagerly awaited venture.
Greenhouse at May River aims to be a standout addition to Bluffton's culinary landscape. Owners Jennifer and Melissa Perri envision the establishment as a versatile space perfect for casual meetups, intimate date nights, or a relaxing drink with friends. Embracing an 1800’s Victorian aesthetic adorned with lush greenery, the restaurant will offer a uniquely charming atmosphere. The upstairs area will feature a speakeasy with a high-end cocktail menu, offering an unparalleled experience compared to other local bars.
The Perri sisters bring a wealth of expertise to this project, shaped by their family's deep roots in the hospitality industry.
Jennifer has forged a dynamic career, from spearheading the launch of fine dining establishments in New York City to transforming Princeton University's catering operations. She has also played a pivotal role in crafting the Food & Beverage, and Events department at Palmetto Bluff's prestigious club side. With nearly two decades of hands-on experience and now the ownership of a local events company Elegant Affair Events, Jennifer seamlessly blends practical know-how with academic insights gained from her studies at Virginia Tech's esteemed Pamplin School of Business.
Melissa Perri complements Jennifer's culinary skills with her extensive background in business and entrepreneurship. Melissa founded Product Institute, an online school that has educated over 12,000 students and advises executives at Fortune 500 companies on product management and technology. Additionally, she authored the influential book "Escaping the Build Trap”, hosts the Product Thinking Podcast, and served on the faculty of Harvard Business School. Together, they form a dynamic duo ready to make a significant impact on Bluffton’s dining scene.
Jennifer's personal journey with food allergies has profoundly shaped their approach to the menu, ensuring it is allergy-friendly and farm-to-table, designed for sharing to promote a communal dining experience. Jennifer Perri notes, "Our farm-to-table menu is thoughtfully designed for sharing, encouraging a communal dining experience. With a focus on being allergy-friendly, we offer a diverse selection of various cuisines that rotate regularly."
Shoreline Construction, renowned for its client-first approach and commitment to excellence, is excited to partner with Jennifer and Melissa Perri on this legacy project. Together, they aim to enhance the vibrant culinary culture in the Lowcountry.
